35 who knows the couple best questions

The two Ottermates otters back to back holding up small cards, as if answering a question about each other at the same moment

This is the game that gets the biggest reaction at a shower or a wedding, and it lives or dies on the questions. Below are 35 that work, split into the classic who is more likely round and a set for guests to answer about the couple.

How to run it

This is the game played at engagement parties, weddings and showers, where guests or the couple themselves guess who is more likely to do each thing.

The usual format: read the question, both partners hold up a card or point at whoever the answer is. If they point at the same person, that is a point. If they point at each other, that is the funny one.

Twenty questions is plenty. Forty is too many, and the room stops listening.

Who is more likely to

The classic format, and the one that gets the biggest reaction from a room.

  1. Who is more likely to be late?
  2. Who is more likely to cry at a film?
  3. Who is more likely to start an argument?
  4. Who is more likely to end one?
  5. Who is more likely to forget an anniversary?
  6. Who is more likely to plan the holiday?
  7. Who is more likely to talk to a stranger?
  8. Who is more likely to leave the washing up?
  9. Who is more likely to say sorry first?
  10. Who is more likely to spend too much?
  11. Who is more likely to fall asleep first?
  12. Who is more likely to take the last slice?
  13. Who is more likely to lose their keys?
  14. Who is more likely to remember a birthday?
  15. Who is more likely to drive on a long trip?
  16. Who is more likely to complain about the temperature?
  17. Who is more likely to make the bed?
  18. Who is more likely to send the risky text?
  19. Who is more likely to book something last minute?
  20. Who is more likely to win an argument about facts?

How well do you know the couple

For guests rather than the couple: read these out and have the room write answers, then let the couple mark them.

  1. Where did they meet?
  2. Who spoke first?
  3. Where was their first date?
  4. What is their most-visited place together?
  5. Which one is the better cook?
  6. What is the film they have both seen most?
  7. Which one gets up earlier?
  8. What was their first trip together?
  9. Which one is the tidier of the two?
  10. What is the pet or plant they argue about most?
  11. Who is the better driver, according to them?
  12. What was the last thing they disagreed about publicly?
  13. Which one chose where they live?
  14. What is the song they would both name as theirs?
  15. Which one is more likely to have planned this party?

The easiest version of all of this. Ottermates sends the two of you one question a day. You both answer, and neither of you sees the other's answer until you have both had your say.

Frequently asked questions

How do you play who knows the couple best?

Read a question and have both partners point at whoever the answer is, at the same time. Matching answers score a point, and pointing at each other is where the laugh comes from. Twenty questions is plenty.

How many questions should you ask?

Around twenty for the couple's round. Any more and the room stops listening, which matters more than covering every topic.

What are good questions for a bridal shower version?

Use the guest round: questions about where they met, their first date and who is the better cook. Guests write answers and the couple marks them, which keeps everyone involved rather than just watching.

Can two people play this on their own?

Yes, and it is better with the answers written down and revealed together, since you cannot read each other's face first. That is the same mechanic that makes the couples quiz work.
