Contact us

There is no support queue, no ticket system and no bot. Email us and one of the people who make the app replies, usually within a couple of days. If something is broken, telling us is genuinely useful, and a specific report gets fixed much faster than a vague one.

Before you write

Three things that get you a faster answer

Say what you expected

For bugs

What you did, what happened, and what you thought would happen. Those three lines are usually enough to reproduce it.

01

Include your device

iPhone or Android

The phone and roughly which version of the app. Some problems only exist on one of them.

02

Delete your own data in-app

Faster than asking

Account deletion is built into the app's settings, so you do not need to email anyone or wait for us to act.

03

What to write about

Something is broken. The most useful kind of message. Include what you did and what happened, and we will usually be able to reproduce it from that alone.

A question you want asked. The question list grows from suggestions more than from anything else, and the good ones tend to come from people using it rather than from us.

Your data. Requests to access, correct, export or delete are handled by a person and answered. Deleting your account is already built into the app if that is all you need.

Press, or anything commercial. Same address, and it reaches the same people.

How to reach us

Email hello@ottermates.app. That is the whole thing. It goes to the people who make Ottermates, not to an outsourced desk, and a person answers it.

We deliberately do not run a contact form. A form is one more thing that can quietly break, and it gives you no record of what you sent. An email sits in your sent folder, which is better for you and no worse for us.

Ottermates is made by Fabulous Apps. There is more about who that is on the about page, and the studio's other work is at fabapps.dev.

What we do with what you send

Your message and your email address are used to reply to you and nothing else. You are not added to a mailing list, and neither is passed to anyone.

If you are writing about your data, deleting your account is already built into the app's settings and does not need us. The full picture is in the privacy policy.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Usually within a couple of days. It is a small studio rather than a support desk, so there is no instant answer, but there is a real one from a person who can actually change the app.

It is built into the app, in settings, and you do not need to email anyone. It removes your profile and the answers you wrote. Your partner keeps their own answers, because those are their words rather than yours.

What you did, what happened, and what you expected instead, plus your phone and roughly which version of the app. Those five things are usually enough to reproduce a problem, and a reproducible bug tends to get fixed in the next release.

Yes, and these are welcome. The list grows from suggestions more than from anything else. The ones that make it in tend to be the ones you cannot answer in a single word.

No. Your message and email are used to reply to you and nothing more. You are not added to any mailing list and neither is shared with anyone.

No, on purpose. A form is one more thing that can break quietly, and it leaves you with no copy of what you sent. Email hello@ottermates.app instead and you keep the record in your own sent folder.
