Why only three a day
Because the point is the habit, not the pile. An endless list is something you scroll once and never open again, and we would rather this be the thing you come back to.

Why you pass the phone
Answering at the same time on one screen does not work, because whoever speaks first sets the answer. The second person adjusts, softens or matches, almost always without meaning to.
So you answer, hide it, hand the phone over, and neither of you sees anything until you have both had your say. That withheld moment is the whole mechanic, and it is the reason the answers are worth reading.
What this page cannot do
It is one phone, once a day, and it forgets everything the moment you close it. That is fine for what it is.
